Vernon Davis cries tears of joy

Thirteen years ago at Candlestick Park, in one of the last home playoff games San Francisco has seen, Terrell Owens caught a last-minute touchdown pass from Steve Young at the goal line, came to the sideline to celebrate and broke down in the arms of his coach. On Saturday night, All-Pro tight end Vernon Davis followed the same exact script.

Davis snagged the game-winning touchdown pass from Alex Smith with 14 seconds left in the Niners' NFC divisional playoff game against the favored New Orleans Saints. It was the third touchdown in the final 127 seconds and the capper on San Francisco's first playoff win in nearly a decade. And when it was all done, Davis let all his emotions out.
The former first-round pick finished with seven receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns. His 47-yard reception with 40 seconds left in the game helped set up the final touchdown. In the first quarter, his 49-yard touchdown helped set the tone for what would be a monumental performance for him and his 49ers teammates.

There may not be any crying in baseball, but as long as you put together a playoff game like Vernon Davis, there's no problem with a few tears in football. Let it out.
