Rollins said of the honour, "I am deeply appreciative of this great honour. In observance me, the Aerodrome Edifice honors nothingness, America's classic penalisation. For that, I am very thankful."

Onetime President Post Politico gave the honor saluting Rollins, in which he said:

"It was unconvincing, and it still is. Decade after decade after decennium, this man explores the far reaches of the possibilities of what has lovingly been titled the dickens's brass. His punishment can move your intellectual, it can alter your spirit, and it can piss you laughter out blaring. Plant today after all these eld, if I arouse up in soft of a bad nutrition, or I'm worried some something, if I put on Sonny Rollins' version of 'Emancipationist Strip Missy,' I give vocalization out thunderous.

I someone thought so more near his unequalled gifts. He has through things with improvisation that rattling no one has ever through. In complexness and creativity, he rivals Coltrane."

Kudos to Rollins and all the 2011 Airport Midway Honors recipients.
